Jamie Oliver and Poggenpol design Dubai kitchens
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and Poggenpohl have designed a range of domestic kitchens together for the Dubai-based property developer Leisurecorp.
Both Oliver and Poggenpohl were sought out for the project and have worked closely together for several months, prior to the unveiling of the plans in Dubai. The kitchens will be fitted in the residential neighbourhood of Jumeirah Golf Estates and are expected to be ready by 2011.
Each kitchen will be fitted with Miele or Gaggenau appliances and will feature touch-to-open drawers that use Poggenpohl's Motion Drive mechanism. Other standard features include a breakfast unit with pull-out shelf for a hidden toaster and kettle.
Oliver is set to open two barbecue and Italian-themed restaurants on the Jumeirah Golf Estates site, which will also be designed with Poggenpohl for Leisurecorp.
