Magnet rolling out new installer academies

Magnet recently opened a new kitchen installer training academy in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with another facility nearing completion in Slough to service the south of England. Plans exist to create more academies nationwide.

The new academies demonstrate Magnet's ongoing investment in staff, supplier development and commitment to providing industry-setting standards throughout its 163 trade and retail stores nationwide.

 

The Installer Academy is located in a fully refurbished section of Leeds' specialist trade site on Barrack Street. It includes a fully interactive tutorial room and a large designated practical area with a fully working kitchen installed. There are also four working bays where a number of hands-on practical activities will be undertaken during each session by the installation teams.

 

Mike Taylor, North Divisional Installation Manager, says, "Having been awarded the kitchen industry's first Government approved TrustMark seal, the new Installer Academy reaffirms Magnet's commitment to providing a consistent standard of service and installation across the country. Through our Full Circle Service, which includes professional installation, all customers are treated as individuals and the aim is to have the UK's most satisfied customers.

This fantastic facility will ensure that all new installation teams are fully conversant with Magnet procedures and processes, including installation of our products, prior to working in our customer's homes."

 

Another Installer Academy is due for completion soon and Magnet is also in talks over possible other locations, rolling out installer academies across the UK.

 

The training course, which charges no course fee, is compulsory for new installation teams and used on an ongoing basis to develop any areas that may be required with existing teams. In 2007, Magnet opened its Customer Service Training Academy in Darlington
